On behalf of the Emerging Infectious Diseases and Global Health Security Division at FHI 360, we are honored to invite you to our first symposium, A Changing Landscape: How Pandemic Response Affects Antimicrobial Resistance, a virtual event scheduled for October 12-13, 2021 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am EDT.
The symposium aims to gather researchers, partners, and stakeholders to review the consequences of the intersection between COVID-19 and antimicrobial resistance. A wide range of topics will be covered in depth during panel and breakout room discussions, including the following topics:
• Lessons Learned from Antibiotic Use and Misuse during the COVID-19 Pandemic
• The Role and Importance of Laboratory Diagnostics in Mitigating AMR
• The Importance of Integrating Antimicrobial Stewardship Measures into the COVID-19 Response of Health in Countries
• One Health: Implications of Zoonoses to AMR
The Keynote Address will feature Lord Jim O’Neill, former Chair of the AMR Review. The subsequent panel and breakout room sessions will feature leading experts, including Dr. Sabiha Essack, Dr. Isidore Bonkoungou, Dr. Thuy Doan, and Dr. Bradley Langford.
