The two-session webinar series on COVID-19 Specimen handling was organized on 9 and 16 December 2020 at 8.00 – 10.30am, Malaysian Time. The event was inagurated by Dr Noorliza Mohamad Noordin, Head, Disease Division,National Public Health Laboratory, Ministry of Health Malaysia.

It was attanded by 71 Malaysian participants who are field officers and currently involved in the COVID-19 sample collection, packaging and transportation. The participants were from public health laboratories and district health offices all over Malaysia with a large participation from Borneo.

Supported by USAID through the IDDS Project, the webinar series is one of the joint initatives of the RPHL Network in collaboration with DTRA and SNL. It was a follow up activity of the Training of Trainers for webinar series which were piloted in Thailand and Malaysia.

The online capacity building intends to be one of the means for timely deliverly of any technical support needed during the COVID – 19 pandemic or similar threats in future.
