During restricted travel in the mist of the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual trainings have been piloted as a mean to deliver technical courses on shipping for local specimen transportation for the 10 countries in ASEAN. “A Model Webinar Series for Infectious Substances Shipping for Local Specimen Transport of COVID-19 Patient Specimens” was developed based on results transpiring from the two cohort trainings and coaching sessions for master trainers conducted in June – October 2020.

This initiative is one of the collaborative efforts of the RPHL Network, DTRA (Defense Threat Reduction Agency, USA), Sandia National Laboratories, USA, and USAID through the Infectious Diseases Detection and Surveillance (IDDS) project in ensuring needed technical support can be provided in a timely manner to field staff during the pandemic
